Itinerary Highlights
Day 1-3: Jakarta & Bandung (Java)
Arrive Jakarta. Day 2: explore Jakarta — National Monument, Old Town (Kota Tua), and Sunda Kelapa harbor. Day 3: train to Bandung through stunning volcanic scenery. Visit Tangkuban Perahu volcano and the tea plantations. Overnight in Bandung.
Day 4-5: Yogyakarta
Train to Yogyakarta, Java’s cultural heart. Day 4: Borobudur — the world’s largest Buddhist temple — at sunrise. Day 5: Prambanan, the magnificent Hindu temple complex. Evening Ramayana ballet performance. Overnight in Yogya.
Day 6-7: East Java — Bromo & Ijen
Travel east. Day 6: pre-dawn journey to Mount Bromo for sunrise over the Sea of Sand — one of Indonesia’s most iconic experiences. Day 7: midnight hike to Ijen Crater to see the blue fire phenomenon and sulfur miners at work. Overnight in Banyuwangi.
Day 8-9: Bali & Fly to Timor
Ferry to Bali. Day in Ubud — monkey forest, rice terraces. Day 9: fly to Kupang (West Timor) and immediately cross by land into Timor-Leste. Overnight at the border region.
Day 10-11: Timor-Leste Highlands
Drive to Maubisse via Maliana and the mountain roads. Day 11: early morning summit of Mount Ramelau for sunrise. Afternoon arrival in Dili. Overnight in Dili.
Day 12-13: Dili & History
Resistance Museum, Santa Cruz Cemetery, Cristo Rei, and Tais Market. Optional day trip to Atauro Island for world-class snorkeling. Overnight in Dili.
Day 14-15: East Coast & Baucau
Drive along the stunning north coast to Baucau. Colonial architecture, natural spring pools, and beautiful beaches. Day 15: return to Dili. Farewell dinner.
Day 16: Depart Dili
Transfer to airport.
