Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive BSB — The Golden Capital
Airport transfer. Afternoon: Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, the Royal Regalia Museum, and the Brunei Museum. Evening at the Gadong Night Market. Overnight in BSB.
Day 2: Kampong Ayer & Istana Nurul Iman
Morning boat tour of Kampong Ayer — visit homes, schools, and a fire station on water. See the Istana Nurul Iman from the river — the world’s largest residential palace with 1,788 rooms and a banquet hall for 5,000. Visit the Malay Technology Museum to understand Brunei’s traditional crafts. Afternoon: Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque and the Billionth Barrel Monument at Seria, marking the billionth barrel of oil produced. Overnight in BSB.
Day 3: Temburong — Two-Day Rainforest Immersion
Transfer to Temburong District. Speedboat through mangroves watching for proboscis monkeys — endemic to Borneo, males have comically large noses. Arrive at Ulu Temburong National Park. Afternoon: canopy walkway climb, jungle trekking, and natural waterfall swimming. Overnight at a riverside rainforest lodge.
Day 4: Temburong — Rafting & Iban Culture
Morning river tubing or kayaking on the Temburong River (safe, graded rapids). Visit an Iban longhouse — meet the indigenous people of Borneo, learn about their traditional lifestyle, and try blowpipe shooting. Afternoon return to BSB. Farewell dinner. Overnight in BSB.
Day 5: Depart BSB
Morning visit to Tamu Kianggeh market. Transfer to airport.
