Itinerary Highlights
Day 1-2: Dhaka — 400 Years of History
Arrival and two full days exploring Dhaka: Lalbagh Fort, Ahsan Manzil, Sadarghat river port, rickshaw ride through Old Dhaka, Armenian Church, Star Mosque, Dhakeshwari Temple, and National Museum.
Day 3: Sonargaon — Ancient Capital
Day trip to Sonargaon (27 km from Dhaka), the ancient capital of Bengal (13th-17th centuries). Visit the Folk Arts & Crafts Museum in the restored Sardar Bari mansion. Explore Panam Nagar — an abandoned 19th-century merchant street with 52 ornate mansions lining a single road, now hauntingly empty. Visit the Goaldi Mosque (1519). Overnight at Dhaka.
Day 4-5: Sundarbans Mangrove Safari
Two-day Sundarbans river safari: Kotka Wildlife Sanctuary, canopy walkways, dolphin watching, tiger tracking, forest walks with armed guards. Overnights on the private river boat.
Day 6: Bagerhat & Travel North
Visit the Sixty Dome Mosque (UNESCO) and Khan Jahan Ali’s tomb. Fly or train to Bogra/Naogaon for North Bengal exploration.
Day 7: Paharpur & Mahasthangarh
Explore Somapura Mahavihara (8th century Buddhist monastery, UNESCO) and Mahasthangarh (3rd century BCE). Overnight at Bogra.
Day 8: Srimangal Tea Country
Travel to Srimangal, the tea capital. Lawachara National Park, tea estate tour, seven-layer tea experience, Manipuri tribal village. Evening drive to Dhaka.
Day 9: Departure
Transfer to airport.
