Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive La Paz
Welcome to Bolivia! Airport transfer to your hotel. Afternoon altitude adjustment — coca tea and a gentle walk through the Witches’ Market. Evening orientation and trip briefing. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 2: La Paz to Uyuni
Morning flight to Uyuni. Visit the Train Cemetery — a haunting collection of rusting steam locomotives abandoned in the desert. Afternoon at Colchani, a salt-processing village where locals harvest and refine salt from the flats. Watch the sunset paint the Salar in shades of gold and pink. Overnight in Uyuni.
Day 3: Salar de Uyuni Full Day
Full day on the world’s largest salt flat — 10,582 sq km of blinding white. Visit Incahuasi Island with its giant cacti and panoramic views. Create perspective photos on the endless white expanse. Explore the salt mounds and “ojos de sal” (salt eyes) where water bubbles up from beneath. Sunset on the salt flat — an unforgettable spectacle. Overnight in a salt hotel.
Day 4: Colored Lagoons & Desert Adventure
4×4 adventure into the high altiplano. Visit Laguna Colorada — a surreal red lake dotted with thousands of pink flamingos. Explore the Salvador Dali Desert with its bizarre rock formations. See the Sol de Mañana geothermal field with bubbling mud pots and steam vents. Soak in natural hot springs at 4,400m with mountain views. Return to Uyuni. Overnight in Uyuni.
Day 5: Depart La Paz
Morning flight back to La Paz. Last chance for souvenirs at the Witches’ Market. Airport transfer. Chau, Bolivia!
