Itinerary Highlights
Day 1-2: Cape Town — Table Mountain & Cape Peninsula
Fly into Cape Town. Two days exploring South Africa’s Mother City: Table Mountain cable car, Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach penguin colony, and the vibrant V&A Waterfront. Wine tasting in Constantia, South Africa’s oldest wine region. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 3: Fly Cape Town to Saint Helena
Transfer to Cape Town International for the weekly flight to Saint Helena. The 4.5-hour flight over the South Atlantic is an experience in itself — endless ocean, then suddenly, a volcanic island appears. Arrive in Jamestown, population 4,500. Evening orientation walk through the Georgian streets. Overnight in Jamestown.
Day 4: Jamestown & Napoleon’s Longwood
Morning: climb Jacob’s Ladder (699 steps). Explore Georgian Jamestown — the Castle, St James’ Church, and the Museum. Afternoon: Napoleon’s Longwood House and the Briars Pavilion. Visit the Valley of the Tomb. Overnight in Jamestown.
Day 5: Plantation House & Coffee Country
Visit Plantation House to meet Jonathan the 190-year-old tortoise. Tour Saint Helena’s coffee plantations and the Millennium Forest. Afternoon Postbox Walk on the Blue Point Trail. Overnight in Jamestown.
Day 6: Coastal Cruise & Whale Shark Season
Full-day boat cruise: dolphin watching, seasonal whale shark snorkeling, Lot’s Wife’s Ponds, Speery Island seabird colony. Overnight in Jamestown.
Day 7: Diana’s Peak & Heart-Shaped Waterfall
Hike to Diana’s Peak (823m), the island’s highest point, through endemic cloud forest. Visit the Heart-Shaped Waterfall. Afternoon at leisure in Jamestown. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Jamestown.
Day 8: Fly Saint Helena back to Cape Town
Morning at leisure. Flight back to Cape Town. Arrive afternoon. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 9: Cape Town — Robben Island & Bo-Kaap
Morning: ferry to Robben Island for a tour led by former political prisoners. Afternoon: explore the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood, the historic Cape Malay quarter. Farewell dinner at a Camps Bay restaurant with sunset over the Twelve Apostles. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 10: Departure
Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for onward flights.
