Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Paradise
Arrive at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport and transfer to your 4-star resort. After check-in, spend the afternoon settling into island time. Walk along the white sand beach, dip your toes in the turquoise water, and enjoy a welcome cocktail at sunset. Dinner at the resort.
Day 2: Port Louis — The Capital & Pamplemousses Garden
Morning excursion to Port Louis, the vibrant capital. Visit the Central Market (bazaar) with its colorful displays of spices, textiles, and local crafts. See the Champ de Mars — the oldest horse racing track in the Southern Hemisphere. Continue to the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden (Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden), famous for its giant Victoria amazonica water lilies, talipot palms, and spice gardens. Return to the resort for afternoon beach time.
Day 3: Île aux Cerfs — Catamaran Paradise Island
Full day catamaran cruise to Île aux Cerfs, the iconic paradise island off the east coast. Sail through crystal-clear lagoon waters, stopping for snorkeling among tropical fish and coral. Arrive at the island’s pristine beach, fringed with filao trees. Enjoy a beach barbecue lunch. Spend the afternoon swimming, sunbathing, or taking optional water sports (parasailing, undersea walk). Sail back at sunset — a perfect day in paradise.
Day 4: Chamarel — Seven Colored Earth & Waterfalls
Drive to the southwest of the island to discover Chamarel. Visit the Chamarel Waterfall, plunging 100m into a lush gorge. Then witness the geological wonder of the Seven Colored Earth — sand dunes in seven distinct colors (red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, yellow) created by volcanic rocks cooling at different temperatures. Continue to the Black River Gorges National Park for scenic viewpoints and optional short hikes through native forest.
Day 5: Trou aux Cerfs & Grand Bassin — Volcano & Sacred Lake
Visit Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater with a 360° panoramic view of the island’s central plateau. Then to Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), a sacred crater lake considered the most holy Hindu site in Mauritius. See the giant statues of Shiva and other deities around the lake, especially impressive during Maha Shivaratri festival. Afternoon at leisure at your resort.
Day 6: Resort Day — Swim, Spa, Sunset
Full day at leisure. Enjoy the resort’s facilities: infinity pool, water sports, spa treatments. Take a glass-bottom boat trip, try stand-up paddleboarding, or simply read a book under a palm tree. Evening farewell dinner — seafood barbecue on the beach with live Sega music, the traditional dance of Mauritius.
Day 7: Departure
Morning at leisure for a final swim or souvenir shopping at the resort boutique. Transfer to the airport for departure. You leave sun-kissed and refreshed from the best beach week of your life.
