Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Kampala to Kibale Forest
Morning departure from Kampala/Entebbe. Drive west through tea plantations to Fort Portal, nestled at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains. Afternoon Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary walk — an incredible community-run wetland teeming with monkeys and birds. Overnight near Kibale National Park.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Early morning chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park — the world’s primate capital with 13 primate species. Track habituated chimp communities through the tropical forest. Watch them swing through trees, groom each other, and call out in the forest. Afternoon transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Evening game drive. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth NP.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi
Morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth NP — spot elephants, lions, buffalo, and Uganda kob. Cruise on the Kazinga Channel with its massive hippo pods and Nile crocodiles. Afternoon drive through the Ishasha sector (famous for tree-climbing lions) to Bwindi. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
The main event! Full-day gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Track one of the habituated gorilla families through the dense rainforest. One precious hour with these magnificent creatures. Evening celebration with gorilla tracking certificate. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
Scenic drive back to Kampala/Entebbe with lunch en route. Afternoon arrival. Safe travels!
