Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Mont Choisy — Welcome to Mauritius
Arrive and transfer to Coral Azur Beach Resort at Mont Choisy, one of the island’s most beautiful northern beaches. Settle into your room with views of the azure lagoon. Afternoon at leisure to explore the beach, swim, and unwind. Welcome dinner at the resort with Creole and international cuisine.
Day 2: Grand River South East & Île aux Cerfs
Morning boat trip on the Grand River South East, passing through lush vegetation to the Grand River South East Waterfall — a dramatic cascade where the river meets the sea. Continue by speedboat to Île aux Cerfs, the quintessential Mauritius paradise island. Spend the day on pristine white sand beaches, swim in crystal-clear water, and enjoy optional water sports. Beachside lunch with fresh seafood.
Day 3: Curepipe & Black River Gorges
Visit the colonial town of Curepipe and the Trou aux Cerfs volcanic crater. Explore Bois Chéri tea plantation with its panoramic views. Then to Black River Gorges National Park — hike through native forest to see the Alexandra Falls and the dramatic Gorges viewpoint, home to the Mauritius kestrel and pink pigeon (both saved from extinction). Afternoon visit to Chamarel: the Seven Colored Earth and the magnificent Chamarel Waterfall.
Day 4: Port Louis & Cap Malheureux
Morning drive to Port Louis for a comprehensive capital tour: the Central Market (a sensory explosion of spices and local produce), Caudan Waterfront shopping complex, and the Aapravasi Ghat (UNESCO World Heritage — the site where modern indentured labor began). Afternoon visit to Cap Malheureux and its iconic red-roofed church. Last evening at the resort — sunset swim and farewell dinner.
Day 5: Departure
Morning at leisure for a final swim at Mont Choisy beach. Optional last-minute souvenir shopping at Grand Baie. Transfer to the airport. You leave with memories of turquoise lagoons, colorful earth, and the warm hospitality of Mauritius.
