Day 1: Arrive Larnaca — Transfer to Paphos
Welcome to Cyprus, the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite! Airport pickup and drive along the stunning southern coast to Paphos. Evening stroll along Paphos Harbor with its medieval castle. Welcome dinner with meze — a feast of 20+ small dishes — and local Commandaria wine, the world’s oldest named wine. Overnight in Paphos.
Day 2: Paphos — UNESCO Archaeological Wonders
Full day in Paphos (UNESCO). Visit the extraordinary Paphos Mosaics — Roman floor mosaics depicting scenes from Greek mythology, considered among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean. Explore the Tombs of the Kings, an underground necropolis carved from solid rock. Visit St. Paul’s Pillar and the ancient Odeon. Afternoon at Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra tou Romiou) — legend says swimming around it three times brings eternal love! Overnight in Paphos.
Day 3: Akamas Peninsula & Blue Lagoon
4×4 excursion into the wild Akamas Peninsula. Visit the Baths of Aphrodite, where the goddess supposedly bathed. Off-road to Lara Bay, a protected turtle nesting beach. Boat trip to the Blue Lagoon — crystalline turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Visit the Avakas Gorge, a dramatic limestone canyon. Overnight in Paphos.
Day 4: Troodos Mountains — Painted Churches
Drive into the Troodos Mountains. Visit Kykkos Monastery, the wealthiest and most famous in Cyprus, with its golden icon of the Virgin Mary. Explore UNESCO-listed painted churches: Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis (11th century) with its stunning Byzantine frescoes. Continue to Omodos village for wine tasting at a traditional winery. Lunch at a village taverna. Overnight in a mountain village.
Day 5: Nicosia — The Last Divided Capital
Drive to Nicosia, the world’s last divided capital city. Walk through the old city within the Venetian walls. Cross the Green Line at Ledra Street checkpoint into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (bring passport). Visit Buyuk Han, a beautifully restored 16th-century Ottoman caravanserai. Explore St. Sophia Cathedral (now Selimiye Mosque). Return to the Greek side for the Cyprus Museum’s archaeological treasures. Overnight in Nicosia.
Day 6: Kourion & Limassol
Visit the magnificent Kourion archaeological site: the Greco-Roman theater perched on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, stunning mosaic floors of the House of Eustolios, and the early Christian basilica. Continue to Kolossi Castle, a 13th-century Crusader stronghold. Afternoon in Limassol — walk the Marina, visit the medieval castle, and enjoy the vibrant city. Overnight in Limassol.
Day 7: Larnaca & Famagusta Day Trip
Morning in Larnaca: visit the Church of St. Lazarus (9th century) and the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque on the Salt Lake, one of Islam’s holiest sites. Optional day trip to Famagusta in Northern Cyprus: the walled old city and the haunting Varosha ghost quarter, a resort town frozen in time since 1974. Return to Limassol for farewell dinner. Overnight in Limassol.
Day 8: Depart Larnaca
Morning at leisure. Transfer to Larnaca International Airport. Yia sou!
