Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Caracas
Arrive at Caracas Maiquetía International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in the Altamira or Las Mercedes district. Evening welcome briefing with your guide over traditional Venezuelan coffee and arepas. Orientation walk through the neighborhood’s restaurants and plazas.
Day 2: Caracas — Bolivarian History & Modern Venezuela
Full day exploring Caracas. Morning visit to the historic center: Plaza Bolívar, Caracas Cathedral, Casa Natal de Simón Bolívar, and the National Pantheon. Visit the Cuartel de la Montaña (Hugo Chávez Mausoleum) and the 23 de Enero district for insight into Venezuela’s modern political landscape. Afternoon cable car ride to the top of El Ávila mountain (2,100m) for spectacular views of Caracas and the Caribbean coast. Evening dinner at a traditional restaurant.
Day 3-4: Angel Falls — The World’s Highest Waterfall
Fly to Canaima National Park. Two days dedicated to Angel Falls: boat journey up the Carrao River, jungle hike to the base of the falls, swim in natural pools, visit Sapo and Hacha Falls, and meet the Pemón indigenous community. See Tour 1 for detailed Angel Falls itinerary.
Day 5: Canaima to Mérida — Andean Adventure
Fly from Canaima to Mérida, Venezuela’s charming Andean city nestled at 1,630m. Afternoon walking tour of Mérida’s colonial center: the Cathedral, Bolívar Square, and the colorful Mercado Principal. Visit an Andean coffee plantation to learn about Venezuela’s prized high-altitude coffee. Evening at leisure in Mérida’s vibrant student quarter with its many cafes and restaurants.
Day 6: Mérida — Pico Espejo & The World’s Highest Cable Car
Morning ride on the Mukumbarí Cable Car System, one of the world’s highest and longest, ascending to Pico Espejo at 4,765m. Panoramic views across the Venezuelan Andes — on clear days, you can see Lake Maracaibo. Short hike at the summit for photos of surrounding peaks including Pico Bolívar (5,007m), Venezuela’s highest. Afternoon visit to the charming town of Jají, a perfectly preserved colonial Andean village. Overnight in Mérida.
Day 7: Mérida to Los Roques — Caribbean Paradise
Morning flight from Mérida to Caracas, connecting to Los Roques Archipelago. Arrive on Gran Roque by midday. Afternoon boat to Madrisquí Cay for your first swim in the Caribbean’s warm turquoise waters. Sunset from Gran Roque lighthouse. Fresh seafood dinner at your beachfront posada.
Day 8: Los Roques — Island Hopping
Full day boat excursion: Cayo de Agua (iconic sandbar), Crasquí (snorkeling with sea turtles), and Francisquí (swimming and relaxation). Beach barbecue lunch on a deserted cay. See Tour 3 for detailed Los Roques itinerary.
Day 9: Los Roques — Noronquí & Relaxation
Morning snorkeling at Noronquí, the archipelago’s best coral reef. Swim among parrotfish, angelfish, and rays. Afternoon at leisure — optional kite surfing, sport fishing, or simply relaxing on pristine white-sand beaches. Farewell dinner featuring fresh lobster and Venezuelan rum.
Day 10: Los Roques to Caracas — Departure
Morning flight from Los Roques to Caracas. Day room available for freshening up before your international flight. Transfer to Maiquetía Airport for departure. Take home memories of Caracas’s energy, Angel Falls’s majesty, the Andes’s grandeur, and Los Roques’s Caribbean perfection — all in one unforgettable journey.
