Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Bishkek
Airport pick-up. City orientation. Overnight in Bishkek.
Day 2: Bishkek — Issyk-Kul North Shore
Burana Tower visit. Drive to Issyk-Kul via the dramatic Boom Gorge. Afternoon: petroglyphs at Cholpon-Ata. Overnight at lakeside resort.
Day 3: Issyk-Kul — Karakol
Morning eagle hunting demonstration with a berkutchi and his golden eagle. Drive to Karakol: Dungan Mosque, Przhevalsky Museum, Russian Orthodox Church. Afternoon: Jeti-Oguz Gorge hike. Overnight in Karakol yurt camp.
Day 4: Karakol — Bokonbayevo — Kyzyl-Tuu
Drive along Issyk-Kul’s southern shore. Stop at Skazka Canyon. Visit Bokonbayevo village, center of eagle hunting culture. Visit Kyzyl-Tuu village where traditional yurt-making continues using methods unchanged for centuries — watch the intricate process of bending willow frames and sewing felt covers. Overnight in lakeside yurt camp.
Day 5: Issyk-Kul — Bishkek
Morning horseback ride along the lake shore. Visit a Kyrgyz family for a homemade lunch of plov and freshly baked bread. Return to Bishkek. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Bishkek.
Day 6: Depart Bishkek
Airport transfer.
