Day 2: Tromso — Arctic Activities

Day 3: Tromso to Lyngen Alps to Alta
Hit the road for an epic Arctic driving day. Head east from Tromso, taking the ferry from Breivikeidet to Svensby, then driving through the spectacular Lyngen Alps (Lyngsalpene) — a 90-kilometer mountain range with peaks rising directly from the fjords. The dramatic Lyngenfjord accompanies you on one side as you navigate this breathtaking landscape. Stop at the Museum of Rock Carvings in Alta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring over 6,000 prehistoric rock carvings and paintings dating from 4,200 to 500 BCE. These remarkable works of art by hunter-gatherer cultures depict reindeer, bears, elk, boats, and human figures — a window into life in the Arctic thousands of years ago. Day 4: Alta to Honningsvag via Sorrisniva Ice Hotel

Day 5: North Cape — The Top of Europe
The highlight of your Arctic journey — drive the final stretch to North Cape (Nordkapp), mainland Europe’s northernmost point at 71 degrees 10 minutes 21 seconds north. The drive passes through a dramatic sub-Arctic landscape before arriving at the North Cape Plateau, a 307-meter-high cliff rising vertically from the ocean. Entrance to the North Cape Hall is included. Stand at the iconic Globe Monument, a symbol of reaching the northernmost accessible point of Europe. Day 6: Hammerfest to Tromso via Hurtigruten Cruise
Drive from Honningsvag to Hammerfest, the world’s northernmost city. Hammerfest received its city charter in 1789 and has been a center of Arctic fishing and trade for centuries. Visit the Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society museum, celebrating Hammerfest’s unique history. Return your rental car in Hammerfest and board the legendary Hurtigruten coastal express for the scenic cruise back to Tromso. This is one of the most beautiful sections of the Norwegian coast, threading through islands and fjords as you sail south. Optional Northern Lights viewing from deck as darkness falls. Day 7: Departure from Tromso
