Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Libreville Arrival
Meet and greet at Libreville Airport. Transfer to hotel. Evening welcome dinner with Gabonese cuisine.
Day 2: Libreville City & Culture
Morning tour of Libreville: National Museum, St. Michael’s Cathedral with its carved wooden pillars, and the vibrant Mont-Bouët market. Afternoon at leisure on the beach.
Day 3: Journey to Loango
Scenic flight to Loango National Park. Check into Loango Lodge. Afternoon guided forest walk spotting red river hogs and forest duikers.
Day 4: First Gorilla Trek
Pre-dawn departure for gorilla tracking. Spend hours observing a western lowland gorilla family in their natural habitat. Afternoon beach walk at Tassi.
Day 5: Akaka Bush Camp
Transfer to the remote Akaka Bush Camp deep in the rainforest. Settle into this authentic camp surrounded by wildlife sounds.
Day 6: Second Gorilla Encounter
Full-day gorilla trek from Akaka — potentially observing a different family group. Track through some of Gabon’s most pristine forest with expert Ba’aka guides.
Day 7: Final Wilderness Day
Morning river safari searching for sitatunga antelope and rare birds. Afternoon return to Loango Lodge for a farewell beach sundowner.
Day 8: Departure
Flight back to Libreville. Transfer to international airport.
