Day 1-3: Bali — Ubud Temples, Rice Terraces & Cooking Class
Day 1: Arrive Bali. Transfer to Ubud. Afternoon: Sacred Monkey Forest and Ubud Market. Evening: welcome dinner. Overnight Ubud.
Day 2: Morning: Tegallalang Rice Terraces — Bali’s iconic stepped emerald-green paddies. Visit Tirta Empul, the holy water temple where Balinese Hindus perform purification rituals. Afternoon: Gunung Kawi, 11th-century royal tombs carved into a cliff face. Evening: traditional Kecak fire dance at a local temple. Overnight Ubud.
Day 3: Morning Balinese cooking class — visit a local market to select ingredients, then learn to prepare satay lilit, lawar salad, pepes ikan (fish in banana leaf), and dadar gulung (coconut pancakes). Afternoon at leisure. Evening flight to Labuan Bajo. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 4-5: Komodo National Park Sailing
Day 4: Board the phinisi. Sail to Kelor Island for a short hike and snorkel. Continue to Rinca Island — trek with rangers to see Komodo dragons in the wild. Afternoon: Padar Island hike for the three-bay panorama. Overnight on the boat.
Day 5: Pink Beach snorkeling and Sebayur Besar island for pristine coral gardens. Afternoon return to Labuan Bajo. Sunset at the harbor. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 6-8: Flores Highlands & Wae Rebo
Day 6: Drive east through Flores’s spectacular interior. Visit the Spider Web Rice Fields (lingko) of Cancar — vast circular paddies divided like pie slices in a unique Manggarai tradition. Continue to Ruteng, the mountain market town. Overnight Ruteng.
Day 7: Early drive to Dintor trailhead. 9km trek through tropical forest to Wae Rebo (1,200m). Arrive at the cluster of seven towering conical houses. Welcome ceremony, village tour, dinner with the community, traditional songs and stories. Overnight Wae Rebo.
Day 8: Morning in Wae Rebo — learn how Mbaru Niang houses are built without nails, understand Manggarai traditions. Midday trek down. Drive back to Labuan Bajo. Farewell dinner. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 9-10: Free Day & Departure
Day 9: Optional: Rangko Cave, Cunca Wulang canyon, or simply relax. Last sunset over the Flores Sea. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 10: Depart from Komodo Airport.
