Day 1: Arrive Luanda
VIP airport meet-and-greet. Afternoon: Fortaleza de São Miguel (16th century), Iron Palace (Gustave Eiffel design). Evening: dinner on Ilha de Luanda — fresh seafood on a sand spit in the Atlantic. Overnight at Hotel Continental Luanda (4★).
Day 2: Luanda Discovery
Morning: Mausoleum of Agostinho Neto, National Museum of Slavery (17th-century chapel), Baixa downtown with Portuguese colonial buildings. Afternoon: Currency Museum, Marginal promenade, artisan market. Evening free. Overnight Luanda.
Day 3: Kissama National Park
Full day game drive in Kissama National Park (Quiçama), 70km south of Luanda. Look for giant sable antelope (Angola’s national symbol, endemic), elephants, giraffes (reintroduced from South Africa), zebras, and diverse birdlife. The park stretches from the Atlantic coast to the Kwanza River, offering savanna, wetlands, and coastal habitats. Picnic lunch in the park. Evening return to Luanda. Overnight Luanda.
Day 4: Kalandula Falls via N’dalatando
Drive east to Kalandula (5 hours), stopping at N’dalatando’s Botanical Gardens. Late afternoon: first view of Kalandula Falls — the 105m curtain plunging over a 400m-wide basalt cliff, Africa’s second-largest falls by volume after Victoria Falls. Sunset from the viewpoint. Overnight at Hotel Fazenda Cabuta.
Day 5: Kalandula Falls & Pedras Negras
Morning: hike to the falls base (moderate trail, 45 min) for the thundering up-close perspective. Afternoon: Pedras Negras de Pungo Andongo — massive black granite monoliths erupting from the savanna. Visit the 17th-century Fortress of Pungo Andongo, a stronghold of Queen Nzinga, the legendary warrior queen who fought Portuguese colonization for 40 years. Drive back toward Luanda. Overnight at a comfortable lodge en route.
Day 6: Return to Luanda & Departure
Morning drive to Luanda (3 hours). Transfer to airport.
