Day 1: Arrive & Tórshavn Heritage
Arrive Vágar Airport. Transfer to Tórshavn. Afternoon guided walking tour focusing on the city’s Viking origins: Tinganes (825 AD parliament), Skansin fort, and the turf-roofed houses of Reyn (the old town). Visit the National Museum of the Faroe Islands to see the Kirkjubøur pew ends from the 15th century and the famous 9th-century runestone. Welcome dinner of Faroese seafood. Overnight Tórshavn.
Day 2: Streymoy North — Saksun & the Waterfall Route
Drive north. Morning exploration of Saksun village with its tidal lagoon and turf-roofed church. Walk the Dúvugarðar farm museum, unchanged for generations. Continue to Tjørnuvík, the northernmost Streymoy village, for views of the sea stacks Risin and Kellingin. Stop at Fossá, the Faroes’ tallest waterfall at 140 meters, cascading in two tiers directly beside the road. Cross to Eysturoy and drive to the northern ferry port of Leirvík for the crossing to Klaksvík. Overnight Klaksvík.
Day 3: Kalsoy — Bond’s Island & Lighthouse Ridge
Morning ferry to Kalsoy. Drive the tunnel network to the island’s northernmost village, Trøllanes. Then, hike the legendary trail to Kallur Lighthouse, made famous by James Bond’s No Time to Die. The trail follows a narrow ridge with 300-meter drops to the Atlantic on both sides. At the lighthouse, the view stretches across the northern islands—on clear days, all the way to Iceland. Return hike and explore the village of Mikladalur, home to the haunting Kópakonan (Seal Woman) statue emerging from the sea. Ferry back to Klaksvík. Overnight Klaksvík.
Day 4: Viðoy & Kunoy — The Northern Edge
Drive to Viðoy Island across a causeway. Visit Viðareiði, the Faroes’ northernmost village, wedged between the Atlantic and the 841-meter Cape Enniberg, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. The village church holds a silver chalice said to have survived a 17th-century pirate raid. Continue to Kunoy Island, connected by a causeway from Haraldssund, with its dramatic mountain spine running the length of the island. Walk the shore path past traditional boat houses and drying racks. Return to Klaksvík. Overnight Klaksvík.
Day 5: Borðoy & Return South
Morning exploration of Borðoy Island. Walk the track to the abandoned settlement of Skarð at the head of a remote fjord, or visit the Christianskirkjan (1963) in Klaksvík with its 4,000-year-old pagan cult boat hanging from the ceiling. Afternoon drive south through the sub-sea tunnels past Eysturoy’s dramatic eastern coast. Stop at the village of Gjógv to see its namesake 200-meter sea gorge. Evening in Tórshavn. Farewell dinner. Overnight Tórshavn.
Day 6: Departure
Morning at leisure. Transfer to Vágar Airport.
