Day 1: Arrive Vágar — Gásadalur & Múlafossur
Collect your rental car at Vágar Airport. First stop: Gásadalur village, connected to the world only since 2004. Photograph the iconic Múlafossur waterfall plummeting directly into the Atlantic Ocean with the village as backdrop. Walk the old postman’s trail (now a tunnel alternative) for sea views. Continue to the village of Bøur with its grass-roofed houses and views to the Drangarnir sea arch. Settle into Tórshavn. Overnight Tórshavn.
Day 2: Sørvágsvatn & Tórshavn
Morning hike to Trælanípa for the famous ‘floating lake’ illusion. Continue along the clifftop to Bøsdalafossur, the waterfall where the lake empties into the sea. Afternoon exploring Tórshavn: the historic Tinganes parliament, the Nordic House cultural center, and the old town’s winding lanes. Dinner recommendation: Ræst for fermented Faroese cuisine or Barbara Fish House for the catch of the day. Overnight Tórshavn.
Day 3: Northern Streymoy — Saksun & Tjørnuvík
Drive north on Streymoy. First stop: the black church of Norðradalur and its dramatic valley setting. Continue to Saksun, a village at the head of a tidal lagoon beneath amphitheater-like mountains. Walk the lagoon bed at low tide. Then on to Tjørnuvík, the northernmost village, where you can walk the black sand beach beneath the 71-meter sea stacks Risin and Kellingin. Loop back via the Fossá waterfall, the Faroes’ tallest at 140 meters. Overnight near Gjógv or Klaksvík.
Day 4: Kalsoy — The Bond Island
Take the morning ferry from Klaksvík to Kalsoy Island. Drive the single-lane tunnels through the ‘flute-shaped’ island to Trøllanes. Hike the dramatic ridge trail to Kallur Lighthouse—the James Bond No Time to Die finale location. The knife-edge ridge has sheer 300-meter drops on both sides and views to the northern Faroe Islands. Return ferry to Klaksvík. Afternoon exploring Klaksvík and the notable Christianskirkjan church. Overnight near Gjógv or Klaksvík.
Day 5: Southern Islands & Eysturoy Circle
Choose your adventure: take the ferry to Sandoy island to see the charming village of Dalur and its black sand beaches, or visit Nólsoy, a short ferry from Tórshavn, for puffin colonies and the world’s largest storm petrel colony. Alternatively, drive the Eysturoy coastal route past the villages of Elduvík and Funningur. Afternoon visit to Oyndarfjørður to see the rocking stones, two massive boulders moved rhythmically by the waves. Return to Tórshavn. Farewell dinner. Overnight Tórshavn.
Day 6: Departure
Final morning. Return rental car at Vágar Airport and depart.
