This 10-day expedition takes you through Gabon’s three most spectacular national parks: Loango (coastal wildlife), Lopé (savanna-forest mosaic and mandrills), and Ivindo (mighty waterfalls). Experience the full spectrum of Gabon’s extraordinary biodiversity.
Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Libreville Arrival
Airport transfer and overnight at Radisson Blu. Evening introduction to Gabon’s natural wonders.
Day 2-4: Loango National Park
Fly to Loango. Three days of gorilla tracking, hippo and elephant beach sightings, river safaris, and Ba’aka-guided forest walks. Stay at Loango Lodge.
Day 5-6: Lopé National Park
Train journey through the rainforest to Lopé UNESCO site. Track mandrill troops — up to 1,300 individuals in a single group. Explore ancient rock engravings and the savanna-forest transition zone.
Day 7-9: Ivindo National Park
Transfer to Ivindo, one of Africa’s wildest parks. Marvel at the thundering Kongou Falls (wider than Victoria Falls at certain points). Canoe safari on the Ivindo River. Search for the elusive Picathartes (grey-necked rockfowl).
Day 10: Return & Departure
Journey back to Libreville. International departure.
