Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive — Private Welcome
VIP airport greeting. Transfer to Menen Hotel. Afternoon private tour of Anibare Bay and the ring road highlights. Evening private dinner with a local historian sharing Nauru’s extraordinary story — from phosphate wealth ($450M annually in peak years) to near bankruptcy, from tax haven to Australian detention center controversy. Overnight at Menen Hotel.
Day 2: WWII & Phosphate — The Two Faces of Nauru
Private full-day expedition. Morning: Command Ridge — exclusive access to the Japanese communications bunker, artillery positions, and prison cells. Afternoon: guided tour of the phosphate fields with a former phosphate industry engineer. See the cantilever loading systems — engineering marvels now rusting in tropical heat. Evening: private dinner at The Bay Restaurant, Nauru’s finest, overlooking the ocean. Overnight at Menen Hotel.
Day 3: Offshore & Underwater — Scuba & Fishing
Custom day on the water. Private boat charter: scuba diving (Nauru has no commercial dive operators — we arrange through the Fisheries Department) exploring pristine reefs with zero diving pressure. Alternatively, deep-sea fishing in waters plunging to 2,000m just offshore. Private beach picnic at Anibare Bay. Evening: stargazing — with no light pollution, the Milky Way stretches horizon to horizon. Overnight at Menen Hotel.
Day 4: Depart — Final Impressions
Morning swim at Anibare Bay. Final visit to the handicraft center. Transfer to airport.
