Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Lusaka — Lower Zambezi
Arrival at Lusaka Airport. Light aircraft flight to the Lower Zambezi. Settle into your luxury riverside lodge. Afternoon canoe safari along the Zambezi channels. Sunset cruise with elephants drinking at the river’s edge. Overnight in Lower Zambezi.
Day 2-3: Lower Zambezi Game Drives
Two full days of game drives in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Track the BIG-5: elephant (abundant), buffalo (massive herds), lion (strong prides), leopard (excellent sightings), and the rare black rhino. Canoe safaris offer unique water-level perspectives. Tiger fishing, walking safaris, and spectacular bird watching. Overnight in Lower Zambezi.
Day 4-6: Kafue — Busanga Plains
Fly to Kafue National Park, Zambia’s oldest and largest. Three days exploring the Busanga Plains — a seasonal wetland paradise. Hot air balloon at sunrise (optional). Track cheetah across the plains, watch massive herds of red lechwe splash through the shallows. Night drives reveal the park’s nocturnal secrets: aardvark, porcupine, and the rare pangolin. Overnight in luxury Busanga bush camp.
Day 7-9: South Luangwa National Park
Transfer to the legendary South Luangwa. Three days in the valley where the walking safari was born. Morning and afternoon game drives through ebony groves and oxbow lagoons. South Luangwa is famous for leopard — the highest density in Africa. Visit the Chipembele Wildlife Education Centre. Sundowners at iconic spots along the Luangwa River. Overnight in a luxury tented camp.
Day 10: Livingstone — Victoria Falls
Fly to Livingstone. Guided tour of Victoria Falls from the Zambian side with the best viewpoints. Walk the Knife-Edge Bridge through the spray. Livingstone Island visit and Devil’s Pool swim (seasonal, if water levels permit). Farewell dinner at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 11: Depart Livingstone
Final breakfast overlooking the Zambezi. Helicopter flight over the Falls (optional). Transfer to Livingstone Airport.
