Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Antigua — Welcome to the Beach Capital
Arrive at V.C. Bird International Airport. Welcome rum punch and transfer to your beachfront resort near Dickenson Bay. Afternoon at leisure on Antigua’s most famous beach — one of 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 2: Nelson’s Dockyard & English Harbour
Full day exploring Antigua’s UNESCO-listed Nelson’s Dockyard National Park. Visit the beautifully restored 18th-century Georgian naval dockyard — the only continuously working Georgian dockyard in the world. Explore the Dockyard Museum housing Admiral Nelson’s artifacts. Lunch at the Admiral’s Inn. Afternoon: climb to Shirley Heights Lookout for the most spectacular panoramic view in the Caribbean — English Harbour on one side, the open Atlantic on the other. Visit the ruins of the 18th-century fortifications. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 3: Barbuda Day Trip — Pink Sand Paradise
Early morning ferry or flight to Barbuda, Antigua’s unspoiled sister island. Explore the Frigate Bird Sanctuary in Codrington Lagoon — one of the world’s largest frigate bird colonies with over 2,500 birds. Visit the stunning 11-mile Pink Sand Beach, often completely deserted. Swim in the crystal-clear water and collect tiny pink shells. Visit the ruins of the historic Martello Tower. Lunch at a local seafood shack in Codrington. Return to Antigua in the evening. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 4: Devil’s Bridge & East Coast Exploration
Morning drive to Antigua’s wild Atlantic east coast. Visit Devil’s Bridge, a natural limestone arch carved by the Atlantic Ocean over millennia — according to legend, enslaved people leaped from here to escape bondage, believing they’d return to Africa. Visit Betty’s Hope, the island’s first sugar plantation (est. 1651) with its restored twin windmill towers. Afternoon at Half Moon Bay, a crescent of pink-tinged sand and turquoise water on the Atlantic side. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 5: St. John’s & Rainforest Zip-line
Morning in St. John’s, the colorful capital. Visit the candy-striped St. John’s Cathedral (the third church on this site, rebuilt in 1845), the Museum of Antigua & Barbuda, and the bustling Public Market and Heritage Quay for local crafts. Afternoon: canopy zip-line adventure through Antigua’s rainforest with 13 lines and 9 suspension bridges. Evening: sunset sail along the west coast with champagne and appetizers. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 6: Fig Tree Drive & South Coast
Scenic drive along Fig Tree Drive through Antigua’s lush rainforest interior (fig trees are actually bananas). Visit Wallings Nature Reserve for a guided hike. Stop at local roadside fruit stands for fresh mango, coconut, and black pineapple — Antigua’s signature crop. Afternoon on the south coast: visit Falmouth Harbour, home to mega-yachts from around the world, then relax at Pigeon Beach with views across to Nelson’s Dockyard. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 7: Catamaran Circumnavigation & Farewell
Full-day catamaran cruise around Antigua’s coastline. Stops at Green Island for snorkeling among healthy coral gardens, Cades Reef for the island’s best underwater visibility, and secluded beaches only accessible by boat. Beach barbecue lunch on board with unlimited rum punch. Afternoon visit to Stingray City to swim with and feed southern stingrays in their natural shallow water habitat. Farewell dinner of Antiguan specialties: pepperpot, ducana, and fungee. Overnight at Dickenson Bay.
Day 8: Depart Antigua
