Day 1: Arrival in Amman – City Tour
Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Meet your guide and group, then begin with a tour of Jordan’s capital. Visit the Citadel – perched on the highest hill – with its Umayyad Palace, Byzantine church, and the small but fascinating Jordan Archaeological Museum. Look down at the perfectly preserved 2nd-century Roman Theatre built into the hillside below. Walk through the bustling downtown souks and stop for a lunch of falafel and hummus at the legendary Hashem Restaurant. Evening welcome dinner of mansaf at a traditional restaurant. Overnight at a 5-star Amman hotel.
Day 2: Jerash – Ajloun – Amman
Drive north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities in the world. Enter through Hadrian’s Arch and walk the colonnaded Cardo Maximus to the Oval Plaza. Stand in the South Theatre – where the acoustics still work after 1,800 years – and climb the Temple of Artemis for sweeping views. Continue to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Islamic fortress built by Saladin’s general to defend against the Crusaders. The hilltop position commands views of the Jordan Valley, and on clear days you can see all the way to Jerusalem. Return to Amman for a free evening – explore Rainbow Street for dinner and shisha. Day 3: Petra – The Rose City
Early departure south to Petra, the legendary Nabataean capital carved from living rose-coloured rock. Enter via the Siq – a narrow canyon whose walls tower 80 metres overhead – until the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) appears through the cleft, one of travel’s most magical moments. Your guide leads you past the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and the Theatre carved from solid rock. After lunch, free time to climb the 800 steps to the Monastery (Ad-Deir) for those with energy – the view is worth every step. Return to your 5-star hotel in Petra for dinner. Overnight Wadi Musa.
Day 4: Wadi Rum – Jeep Safari & Bedouin Camp
Morning drive to Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon. Board a 4×4 for an exhilarating desert safari through landscapes made famous by Lawrence of Arabia and The Martian. Visit the Khazali Canyon with its ancient petroglyphs, climb the red sand dunes, and walk beneath the natural rock bridges of Um Fruth. As sunset paints the desert in shades of gold and crimson, arrive at a Bedouin camp. Enjoy sweet Bedouin tea brewed over the fire, then a zarb dinner – chicken and lamb slow-cooked underground in a traditional sand oven. Sleep in a comfortable Bedouin tent beneath a canopy of stars. Day 5: Dead Sea – Departure
Drive north to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth at 427 metres below sea level. Float effortlessly in the hypersaline waters, coat yourself in the mineral-rich black mud, and soak up the therapeutic sun. Rinse off in a resort pool and enjoy a final Jordanian lunch. Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure flight. Ma’a salama – you’ll be back.
