Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Malta — Transfer to Gozo
Airport pickup, ferry to Gozo. Hotel check-in and briefing with detailed route notes, maps, and GPS tracks. Evening walk around Marsalforn. Welcome dinner. Overnight in Marsalforn.
Day 2: Marsalforn to Xlendi (12km)
Start the Gozo Coastal Walk. Hike along dramatic sea cliffs from Marsalforn past the salt pans of Xwejni Bay. Spectacular views of the northern coast. Visit the Ggantija Temples en route. Descend into the beautiful Xlendi Bay. Overnight in Xlendi.
Day 3: Xlendi to Dwejra (10km)
Hike the western coast through some of Gozo’s most dramatic scenery. Walk past cliff-top watchtowers. Arrive at Dwejra Bay, home to the Inland Sea (a lagoon connected to the sea by a tunnel) and the former Azure Window site. Boat through the tunnel into the open sea. Overnight near Dwejra.
Day 4: Dwejra to Victoria (12km)
Hike inland through Gozo’s peaceful countryside — terraced fields, stone walls, and charming hamlets. Pass through the Lunzjata Valley, Gozo’s most fertile valley. Arrive in Victoria (Rabat) and explore the Citadel. Overnight in Victoria.
Day 5: Victoria to Mgarr (10km)
Hike south through traditional villages to Mgarr Harbor. Explore the area around Mgarr ix-Xini, a beautiful fjord-like bay. Overnight in Mgarr.
Day 6: Ferry to Malta — Malta’s West Coast (11km)
Ferry back to Malta. Hike the rugged west coast from Dingli Cliffs through to Gnejna Bay. Visit the prehistoric temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra along the route. Overnight near Valletta.
Day 7: Valletta & Three Cities Walk
Urban walking day. Explore Valletta’s streets at your own pace — St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Grand Master’s Palace, and the Barrakka Gardens. Cross the harbor by water taxi to explore the Three Cities. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Valletta.
Day 8: Depart Malta
Airport transfer. Sahha!
