Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi
Morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala. Scenic 8-9 hour drive through Uganda’s stunning countryside. Stop at the Equator for the classic water-swirl demonstration. Lunch in Mbarara, the land of long-horned cattle. Arrive at Bwindi by evening. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trek
After breakfast, head to park headquarters for briefing. First gorilla trek of the trip — track a different gorilla family in the Buhoma or Ruhija sector. Experience the thrill of encountering mountain gorillas in the wild. One full hour with the gorilla group. Return for lunch and afternoon rest. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek — Different Family
Second gorilla trek — track a different habituated gorilla family, potentially in a different sector of the park. Each gorilla family has unique dynamics: observe different silverbacks, mothers with newborns, and playful juveniles. Compare the behaviors you witnessed between the two treks. Evening celebration with your gorilla tracking certificates. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 4: Return Journey
Leisurely breakfast. Depart for Kampala/Entebbe with lunch en route. Arrive by evening. Transfer to airport or hotel. Safe travels!
