Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Manaus — Amazon Capital

Arrive in Manaus. Afternoon city tour: the Teatro Amazonas opera house, the Adolpho Lisboa Municipal Market (Art Nouveau ironwork imported from Glasgow and Paris), and the Rio Negro Palace. Sunset at Ponta Negra beach on the Rio Negro — the black water against the white sand creates stunning contrasts. Welcome dinner with Amazonian specialties. Briefing on the week’s adventure.

Day 2: River Expedition — Meeting of Waters & Dolphin Swim

Morning speedboat to the Meeting of Waters — touch the Rio Negro (28°C) and Rio Solimões (22°C) at the same time and feel the temperature difference. Continue to the January Ecological Park for a jungle canopy walkway 40m above the forest floor — walk among the treetops with toucans and howler monkeys at eye level. Afternoon: swim with pink river dolphins at a floating platform. These intelligent creatures are wild but curious, approaching visitors freely. Arrive at your jungle lodge near Careiro da Várzea in the evening.

Day 3: Jungle Survival Challenge

The ultimate Amazon adventure day. Morning: a demanding jungle trek into primary rainforest — no trails, just you, your machete-wielding guide, and the wild. Learn advanced survival skills: find water, identify edible insects and plants, build a shelter from palm fronds, and navigate using the sun and river. Rappel down a jungle waterfall into a natural pool. Afternoon: kayak through narrow blackwater creeks flanked by giant Victoria Amazonica water lilies (leaves up to 3m diameter). Overnight camping in the jungle — just a hammock with mosquito net under the canopy. The star-filled sky through the forest opening is spectacular.

Day 4: Caiman Tracking & Nocturnal Wildlife

Morning trek back from the camp to the lodge, spotting wildlife along the way. Afternoon canoe trip into flooded forest areas looking for giant river otters (the “wolves of the river”), anacondas, and the spectacular hoatzin bird (also called the “stinkbird,” a living fossil with claws on its wings). Night motorized canoe expedition — spotlight caimans, including the black caiman that can grow to 5m. Your guide knows exactly where the largest individuals bask at night. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Indigenous Communities & Cultural Exchange

Full day visiting two different indigenous communities. Morning: a riverside caboclo community — descendants of indigenous people and rubber tappers. Learn about rubber extraction, Brazil nut harvesting, and sustainable forest management. Afternoon: a more remote indigenous village where you participate in a sacred ritual, learn body painting with natural pigments, and hear creation stories. Share dinner with the community. Night transfer back to the lodge.

Day 6: Sunrise & Departure

Final dawn canoe — the rainforest is never more alive than at first light. After breakfast, boat back to Manaus. Visit the Museum of the Amazon (MUSA) to consolidate everything you’ve experienced. Transfer to airport. Six days that redefine what adventure means.
