Day 2: Nan Madol — The Venice of the Pacific
Full-day exploration of Nan Madol — the most extraordinary archaeological site in the Pacific. Built between 1200-1500 AD by the Saudeleur dynasty, this ceremonial center consists of 92 artificial islets constructed from massive hexagonal basalt columns, some weighing up to 50 tons. How these stones were transported remains a mystery. Navigate the canals by boat, visiting the royal mortuary complex of Nan Douwas with its 7.5m-high walls. Day 3: Sokehs Rock & WWII History
Morning hike up Sokehs Rock — Pohnpei’s iconic 270m basalt pinnacle with panoramic views across the lagoon, Kolonia, and the outer atolls. Visit the WWII Japanese communications bunker and coastal guns on Sokehs Ridge (Pohnpei was a major Japanese base 1914-1945). Day 4: Pohnpei Cultural Immersion
