Day 1: Maun to Moremi Game Reserve
Depart Maun for Moremi Game Reserve — the protected heart of the Okavango Delta. Check in at a mid-range camp in the Khwai Concession on Moremi’s eastern boundary. Afternoon game drive through mixed mopane woodland and floodplains. Moremi is renowned for exceptional predator sightings: lion prides, leopard in riverine forest, and African wild dogs — the painted wolves of the Delta. Sundowner drinks at a scenic viewpoint. Overnight at camp.
Day 2: Full Day Moremi Game Drives
Full-day exploration of Moremi. Morning drive focuses on the Xakanaxa Lagoon and Paradise Pools — prime areas for elephants crossing channels and hippos wallowing in deep pools. Picnic lunch in the bush. Afternoon drive through Chief’s Island — the largest landmass in the Delta and a wildlife stronghold. Search for the elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe splashing through shallows, and the Delta’s remarkable birdlife including Pel’s fishing owl. Overnight at camp.
Day 3: Khwai to Savuti — Predator Territory
Early morning game drive in Khwai before departing northward. The drive to Savuti traverses the Mababe Depression — an ancient lakebed now home to vast grasslands. Savuti is legendary among safari-goers for its predator dynamics: the famous Savuti lion pride that learned to hunt elephants, and one of Africa’s best cheetah viewing areas. Afternoon game drive in the Savuti Channel area. Overnight at Savuti camp.
Day 4: Savuti to Chobe River Front
Morning game drive in Savuti searching for the resident lion pride and spotted hyenas. After breakfast, continue north to the Chobe River Front. Chobe National Park hosts an estimated 120,000 elephants — the largest contiguous population in Africa. Afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River: watch elephants swim across channels, buffalo herds drinking at the water’s edge, and massive crocodiles basking on sandbanks. The Chobe River sunset with elephants silhouetted against the African sky is unforgettable. Overnight near Chobe.
Day 5: Chobe Sunrise & Departure
Dawn game drive along the Chobe River — elephants by the hundreds come to drink at first light. After breakfast, transfer to Kasane Airport for departure. Option to extend to Victoria Falls just 80km away.
