Day 1: Mantenga Cultural Village & Mlilwane Sanctuary
Arrive from Maputo or Mbabane. Begin at Mantenga Cultural Village in Ezulwini Valley — the spiritual heart of the Swazi nation. Watch traditional Sibhaca dancers in full regalia, tour a reconstructed Swazi homestead with its distinctive beehive huts, and learn about the Reed Dance and Incwala kingship ceremonies. Afternoon transfer to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. Check into your beehive hut accommodation — traditional on the outside, comfortable on the inside. Evening guided nature walk through the sanctuary spotting zebra, wildebeest, and the rare blue duiker — Africa’s smallest antelope species. Dinner under the stars. Overnight at Mlilwane.
Day 2: Hlane Royal National Park — White Rhinos
Full-day excursion to Hlane Royal National Park — once the private hunting ground of Swazi kings, now Eswatini’s largest protected area. Morning game drive in open safari vehicles: Hlane is home to all of the “Big Five” species including lion, elephant, and most notably, white rhinoceros — with some of the best rhino viewing in Southern Africa. Visit a waterhole hide where elephants and rhinos come to drink just meters away. Picnic lunch. Afternoon game drive tracking the resident lion pride. Return to Mlilwane for farewell dinner. Overnight Mlilwane.
Day 3: Reilly’s Rock & Departure
Morning walk to Reilly’s Rock — a historic homestead within Mlilwane. Walk the botanical trail identifying indigenous medicinal plants used in traditional Swazi healing. Visit the environmental education center. Transfer to Mbabane or Maputo for departure.
