Evening sunset boat cruise on Lake Pichola, drifting past the floating Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. Day 2: Udaipur — City Palace & Garden of Maidens

Full day exploring Udaipur: the magnificent City Palace complex (the largest in Rajasthan), Jagdish Temple with its carved pillars, the Crystal Gallery’s unused royal furniture, and Sahelion-ki-Bari (Garden of the Maidens). Afternoon at leisure — take a cooking class in a local home (learn to make laal maas, the fiery Rajasthani mutton curry with mathania chilies), or simply watch the sun set from a rooftop cafe overlooking the lake. Day 3: Udaipur to Jodhpur — Ranakpur’s Marble Forest

Drive through the Aravalli Hills to Jodhpur, stopping at Ranakpur Jain Temple — the 1,444 marble pillars, each uniquely carved, create a “forest of columns” bathed in filtered light. Day 4: Jodhpur — Mehrangarh, the Best Fort in India
