Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Chisinau
Welcome to Moldova’s capital. Evening orientation walk with your CEO (Chief Experience Officer). Overnight in Chisinau.
Day 2: Chisinau City Discovery
Morning walking tour: Parliament Building, St. Pantelimon Church, the Nativity Cathedral, and Stefan cel Mare Park. Visit the National Museum of History. Afternoon at the Pushkin Museum — the Russian poet spent three years in exile here. Evening at a local wine bar. Overnight in Chisinau.
Day 3: Cricova & Orheiul Vechi
Morning underground at Cricova — the underground wine city. Taste Moldova’s remarkable wines in the cool limestone galleries. Afternoon at Orheiul Vechi, the spectacular cave monastery complex overlooking the Raut River. Sunset at the monastery — magical light over the valley. Overnight in Chisinau.
Day 4: Transnistria — Back in Time
Day trip to Transnistria. Visit Bender Fortress and Tiraspol. The hammer-and-sickle flag still flies here. Photograph Soviet monuments, visit the Kvint distillery, and eat at a Soviet-era canteen. Return to Chisinau. Overnight in Chisinau.
Day 5: Saharna & Tipova Monasteries
Journey north to the Saharna Monastery, set in a dramatic gorge with 22 waterfalls. Hike to the hermit caves in the cliffs. Continue to Tipova, Moldova’s oldest monastery complex, carved into the rocky banks of the Dniester in the 11th century. Return to Chisinau.
Day 6: Comrat — Gagauzia & Butuceni
Drive south to Comrat, capital of the autonomous Gagauzia region. The Gagauz are a Turkic Christian people with a unique culture. Taste traditional kavurma (meat stew). Afternoon visit to Butuceni village for a traditional Moldovan home-hosted lunch. Farewell dinner.
Day 7: Depart Chisinau
Morning at the central market. Transfer to airport.
