Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Majuro
Arrive and transfer to hotel. Afternoon orientation. Visit the lagoon side where the turquoise water stretches to the horizon. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 2: Majuro Exploration & WWII
Full day exploring Majuro. Alele Museum, Peace Park Memorial, WWII Japanese bunkers and coastal guns. Afternoon at Laura Beach. Evening presentation on Marshall Islands nuclear testing history. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 3: Arno Atoll Overnight
Boat to Arno Atoll. Check into a traditional village guesthouse. Afternoon: explore the atoll, snorkel on pristine reefs, and experience village life. Traditional feast in the evening. Overnight on Arno.
Day 4: Arno Atoll — Outer Islands Exploration
Full day exploring Arno’s remote motus by small boat. Visit uninhabited islands where turtles nest. Snorkeling, fishing, and beachcombing on islands where you’re the only visitor in years. Overnight on Arno.
Day 5: Return to Majuro — Diving Day
Morning boat back to Majuro. Afternoon: wreck diving at the Ajeltake airplane wreck and reef diving at Kalalin Pass. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 6: Bikini Atoll Briefing (No-Go Zone)
Full-day expedition briefing: Bikini Atoll remains radioactive and access is extremely restricted, but we learn about its history through comprehensive multimedia presentations. Visit the Bikini Town Hall on Kili Island (if accessible) or engage with Bikini community members living on Ejit Island in Majuro Lagoon, where displaced Bikinians have lived since 1947. Learn about their ongoing fight for the right to return. This is one of the most powerful human stories of the nuclear age. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 7: Traditional Navigation Masterclass
Full-day with a traditional navigator. Learn to build and read stick charts. Weather permitting, a sailing trip aboard a traditional outrigger canoe — experience the ancient art of wayfinding by the stars, swells, and birds. Visit the Waan Aelōn̄ in Majel (Canoes of the Marshall Islands) program where young Marshallese learn traditional boatbuilding. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 8: Likiep Atoll (optional flight)
Optional day flight to Likiep Atoll, one of the most beautiful in the Marshalls with a deep lagoon and historic plantation homes from German colonial times. Alternatively, explore more of Majuro’s outer reaches by boat. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 9: Eneko Island & Farewell
Final day in paradise at Eneko Island. Snorkeling, kayaking, beach time. Farewell feast with traditional Marshallese dishes — coconut crab, reef fish, breadfruit, and pandanus. Evening: traditional music and storytelling. Overnight in Majuro.
Day 10: Depart Majuro
Morning at leisure. Transfer to airport.
