Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Malta — Equipment & Briefing
Airport pickup and transfer to your dive resort. Equipment fitting and dive briefing. Afternoon orientation dive in a sheltered bay. Welcome dinner with fellow divers. Overnight at the dive resort.
Day 2: HMS Maori & Cirkewwa Reef
Morning wreck dive: HMS Maori, a WWII destroyer sunk in 14m of water in Valletta’s Grand Harbour. Incredible visibility and penetration opportunities. Afternoon reef dive at Cirkewwa: a stunning underwater landscape of arches, caves, and tunnels teeming with marine life. Watch for octopus, moray eels, and barracuda. Overnight at the dive resort.
Day 3: Gozo — Blue Hole & Azure Window Site
Ferry to Gozo. Two dives at Dwejra: the Blue Hole — descend through a natural chimney into the open sea — and the recently formed underwater landscape where the Azure Window collapsed. Extraordinary rock formations now accessible only to divers. Lunch at a Gozitan restaurant. Overnight at the dive resort.
Day 4: Um El Faroud Wreck & Caves
Wreck dive: the Um El Faroud, a 10,000-ton Libyan oil tanker deliberately sunk in 1998 to create an artificial reef. A massive wreck in 18-36m of water, fully penetrable, covered in marine life. Second dive at the nearby reef and cave complex. Farewell BBQ dinner. Overnight at the dive resort.
