Day 1: Arrive Monrovia
Welcome at Roberts International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Monrovia. Afternoon orientation: Providence Island, the Broad Street historic district, and the National Museum. Welcome dinner of Liberian palm butter and jollof rice. Overnight in Monrovia. (D)
Day 2: Monrovia — Historical Immersion
Full day discovering Monrovia’s layers of history. Providence Baptist Church, the Masonic Temple, and the Centennial Pavilion — symbols of Liberia’s Americo-Liberian founding. The Waterside Market — West Africa at its most vibrant. Afternoon: visit the University of Liberia campus and the old executive mansion (Liberia’s White House). Evening: sunset at Ce Ce Beach with grilled lobster and cold Club Beer. Overnight in Monrovia. (B)
Day 3: Monrovia → Robertsport — Surf & Rainforest Coast
Drive northwest along Liberia’s Atlantic coast to Robertsport, a spectacular beach town on Cape Mount peninsula. The journey passes through traditional fishing villages, palm-fringed beaches, and patches of coastal rainforest. Robertsport is West Africa’s emerging surf destination — its long, consistent waves have been featured in international surf magazines. Afternoon: beach exploration — swim, watch surfers catch waves, or take your first surf lesson with local instructors. Hike to the Cape Mount lighthouse for panoramic views of the Atlantic meeting Lake Piso, Liberia’s largest lake. Evening: fresh seafood dinner on the beach. Overnight in Robertsport. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Lake Piso Canoe & Coastal Villages
Morning dugout canoe trip on Lake Piso — paddle among the mangroves, watching for birds and the occasional manatee. Visit fishing villages around the lake — see traditional fish-smoking operations and net-making. Afternoon: hike along the coastal trails of Cape Mount — pristine beaches, dramatic headlands, and the sound of waves crashing against rocky outcrops. Optional second surf session or simply relax on the beach. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Robertsport. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Robertsport → Monrovia & Departure
Final morning on the Liberian coast — one last swim in the warm Gulf of Guinea. Drive back to Monrovia. Visit a craft market for last-minute souvenirs — Liberian country cloth, carved wooden masks, and woven baskets. Transfer to Roberts International Airport. (B)
