Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bandar Seri Begawan — The Abode of Peace

Arrive at Brunei International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB). Afternoon orientation tour of the capital: visit the magnificent Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque — one of the most beautiful mosques in Southeast Asia with its Italian marble, gold mosaic dome, and serene lagoon. Evening sunset cruise along the Brunei River for your first glimpse of Kampong Ayer, the world’s largest water village.

Day 2: Temburong National Park — Into the Rainforest

Early morning speedboat ride (45 min) to Temburong District. Switch to a traditional longboat (temuai) for the journey upstream into the heart of Ulu Temburong National Park — Brunei’s “Green Jewel” and one of Borneo’s best-preserved primary rainforests. Trek through the jungle with a local Iban guide who explains the medicinal uses of plants and wildlife tracking. Ascend the 50-meter canopy walkway for breathtaking views over the rainforest canopy stretching to the horizon. Visit a waterfall for a refreshing swim. Overnight at Sumbiling Eco Village (BND$225 pax with Ulu Temburong package).

Day 3: Rainforest Morning & Return to BSB

Early morning jungle walk to experience the rainforest awakening — gibbon calls echoing through the canopy, hornbills flying overhead. After breakfast, return by longboat and speedboat to BSB. Afternoon exploration of the Royal Regalia Museum housing the Sultan’s coronation chariot, ceremonial regalia, and gifts from world leaders. Visit Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, Brunei’s largest mosque with 29 golden domes. Evening at the Gadong Night Market for local delicacies.

Day 4: Kampong Ayer & Departure

Morning visit to Kampong Ayer — the “Venice of the East” — where over 30,000 people live in stilt houses connected by wooden walkways. Visit a local family for tea and traditional kuih (cakes). Explore the Kampong Ayer Cultural & Tourism Gallery. Afternoon transfer to airport.
