Day 1: Arrival in Khartoum — Nile Confluence & Museums

Day 2: Drive to Meroë — The Royal Necropolis

Depart Khartoum early morning and travel northeast through the Nubian Desert toward Meroë (approximately 5 hours). Stop at Shendi town for traditional Sudanese tea and local snacks. Arrive at the Royal Necropolis of Meroë in the afternoon, where over 40 steep-sided pyramids rise dramatically from golden desert ridges. Day 7: Return to Khartoum — Omdurman Souk & Dervish Ceremony

Begin the return journey south to Khartoum (approximately 6 hours), with rest stops at traditional “chai houses” along the Nile route. On arrival, cross to Omdurman, Sudan’s historic capital. Visit the Mahdi’s Tomb, a silver-domed landmark commemorating the religious leader who defeated General Gordon in 1885. Explore the Khalifa House Museum for insight into the Mahdist period.
