Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Khartoum
Airport transfer. Afternoon: Nile confluence and National Museum with rescued Nubian temples. Overnight in Khartoum.
Day 2: Khartoum & Omdurman
Khalifa’s House, Mahdi’s Tomb, the vast Omdurman Souq, and the mesmerizing Sufi dervish ceremony at Hamed al-Nil (Fridays). Overnight in Khartoum.
Day 3: Meroe Pyramids
Drive through the Nubian Desert to Meroe. Afternoon and sunset at the Royal Pyramids — 200+ steep-sided Kushite pyramids glowing gold in the desert light. Explore the Royal City ruins and Royal Baths. Camp overnight at Meroe — watch the Milky Way rise over 2,000-year-old pyramids.
Day 4: Naqa & Musawwarat — Return to Khartoum
Morning: Naqa — Lion Temple of Apedemak and the Roman Kiosk, a unique fusion of pharaonic, Greek, and Roman art. Musawwarat es-Sufra — the mysterious Great Enclosure. Afternoon drive back to Khartoum. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Khartoum.
Day 5: Departure
Morning at leisure. Airport transfer.
