Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Luanda Arrival — The Paris of Africa
Arrive in Luanda. Your private guide welcomes you at the airport. Transfer to your premium hotel on the Marginal. Afternoon tour of the Fortaleza de Sao Miguel with its sweeping bay views. Visit the Iron Palace and the lively Ilha de Luanda (Luanda Island) for beachside dining. Welcome dinner with live kizomba music — Angola’s sensual national dance.
Day 2: Kissama National Park — Full Day Safari
Early departure south to Kissama (Quicama) National Park, traversing the Kwanza River. Full-day safari in one of Africa’s great wildlife restoration success stories. “Operation Noah’s Ark” brought elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest from South Africa and Botswana to repopulate the park. Search for the rare giant sable antelope. Lunch at the park’s safari lodge. Return to Luanda.
Day 3: Luanda to Lobito & Benguela — The Coastal Corridor
Drive south along Angola’s Atlantic coast. Stop at the Cachoeiras do Binga (Binga Falls) on the Keve River — a series of cascades surrounded by savannah woodlands. Continue past Chimalavera Park with its 150km of hiking trails and abundant birdlife. Arrive at Lobito — a charming port city with Portuguese colonial architecture and a beautiful natural harbor. Continue to Benguela, the historic colonial capital. Overnight at a restored colonial mansion hotel.
Day 4: Benguela — Atlantic Beaches & Colonial Charm
Explore Benguela’s palm-lined streets, pastel-colored colonial buildings, and the impressive Church of Our Lady of Populo. Visit the local fish market where the morning catch arrives. Afternoon on Benguela’s golden Atlantic beaches — Praia Morena is the most famous. Enjoy fresh seafood at a beachfront restaurant.
Day 5: Return to Luanda & Departure
Morning scenic drive back to Luanda along the coastal highway. Airport transfer for departure.
