Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Ljubljana — Transfer to Bohinj
Arrival at Ljubljana Airport, transfer to Lake Bohinj in Triglav National Park. Welcome briefing and equipment check. Evening walk along the lake shore with stunning mountain reflections. Overnight in Bohinj.
Day 2: Lake Bohinj & Savica Waterfall
Morning hike along Lake Bohinj’s northern shore to the Ukanc Valley. Ascend to Savica Waterfall (78m), which feeds the lake through an underground karst system. Afternoon exploring the traditional alpine village of Srednja Vas. Overnight in Bohinj.
Day 3: Seven Lakes Valley
Full-day hike into the heart of Triglav National Park. Trek through the legendary Seven Lakes Valley, a chain of glacial lakes beneath Mount Triglav (2,864m, Slovenia’s highest peak). Alpine meadows, dramatic limestone peaks, and possibly chamois sightings. Overnight in Bohinj.
Day 4: Mostnica Gorge & Vogar Plateau
Hike through the spectacular Mostnica Gorge — crystal-clear water carving through sculpted limestone. Ascend to the Vogar Plateau for breathtaking views over Lake Bohinj and the Julian Alps. Traditional mountain hut lunch with local cheese and sausages. Overnight in Bohinj.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bled
Morning transfer to Bled. Hike around Lake Bled (6km loop) with stops at viewpoints, including the iconic Ojstrica viewpoint. Pletna boat to Bled Island. Afternoon free for swimming, rowing, or visiting Bled Castle. Overnight in Bled.
Day 6: Vintgar Gorge & Radovna Valley
Walk the wooden galleries of Vintgar Gorge, where the Radovna River thunders through a 1.6km canyon. Continue into the pastoral Radovna Valley with traditional hayracks (kozolci) and farmhouses. Afternoon optional canyoning for the adventurous. Overnight in Bled.
Day 7: Pokljuka Plateau & Triglav Views
Transfer to Pokljuka Plateau (1,300m), a biathlon center and gateway to the high Alps. Hike through spruce forests to alpine pastures with close-up views of Mount Triglav’s north face. Traditional farewell dinner with local specialties. Overnight in Bled.
Day 8: Depart Ljubljana
Breakfast with a final view of Lake Bled’s island church. Transfer to Ljubljana Airport.
