Day 2: Riga Old Town
Guided tour of Riga’s medieval Old Town (UNESCO): Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Three Brothers, Riga Castle, Swedish Gate, and the Powder Tower. Afternoon at leisure — explore the Central Market. Overnight in Riga.
Day 3: Art Nouveau Riga & Jurmala
Morning guided Art Nouveau walking tour — Alberta and Elizabetes streets. Afternoon excursion to Jurmala, Latvia’s Baltic beach resort with historic wooden villas and pine forest walks. Overnight in Riga.
Day 4: Gauja National Park
Full-day excursion to Gauja National Park. Visit Sigulda’s three medieval castles, Gutman’s Cave, and take the cable car over the Gauja River valley. Lunch at a traditional Latvian farmstead. Overnight in Riga.
Day 5: Riga to Tallinn
Drive north along the Baltic coast. Stop at Parnu for a seaside lunch and walking tour of the historic spa district. Arrive in Tallinn by evening. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 6: Tallinn Old Town
Guided walking tour of medieval Tallinn: Toompea Castle, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Town Hall Square, the 15th-century pharmacy, and the city walls. Afternoon optional walking tour of the hip Kalamaja district. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 7: Lahemaa National Park
Day trip to Lahemaa National Park. Visit restored manors (Palmse, Sagadi), the Captain’s Village of Kasmu, and the Jagala Waterfall. Bog-shoe walk across the Viru Bog. Traditional Estonian lunch. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 8: Tallinn to Tartu
Drive to Tartu, Estonia’s university city and 2024 European Capital of Culture. Visit Tartu University (founded 1632), the Kissing Students fountain, and the Aparaaditehas creative complex. Overnight in Tartu/Grasi.
Day 9: Southern Estonia to Daugavpils
Cross into Latvia. Visit Daugavpils — Latvia’s second-largest city with its impressive 19th-century fortress, the Mark Rothko Art Centre, and the Church Hill with four different denominations. Overnight in Daugavpils.
Day 10: Daugavpils to Vilnius
Drive into Lithuania. Visit Aukstaitija National Park — Lithuania’s oldest national park with its pristine lakes and traditional villages. Arrive in Vilnius by evening. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 11: Depart Vilnius
