Day 2: Edge of the World & Diriyah
Morning 4×4 expedition to Jebel Fihrayn — the “Edge of the World” — a dramatic escarpment rising 300m above the Tuwaiq plain, with views stretching 100km across ancient caravan routes. Hike the cliff edge, absorb the silence, photograph the vertiginous drop. Picnic lunch at the summit. Afternoon: Diriyah UNESCO site — At-Turaif’s restored mud-brick palaces. Overnight Riyadh.
Day 3: Fly to AlUla
Morning flight to AlUla. Afternoon: AlUla Old Town, Dadan’s Lion Tombs, Jabal Ikmah (hundreds of ancient inscriptions). Sunset: Elephant Rock with Arabic coffee and dates. Overnight AlUla.
Day 4: Hegra — The Nabataean Marvel
Full morning at Hegra: Qasr al-Farid, Jabal AlBanat tomb complex, the Diwan (Nabataean council chamber carved from rock). Free afternoon — optional hot air balloon, canyon hike, or relaxation at the resort. Evening: Maraya Concert Hall, the mirrored wonder in the desert. Overnight AlUla.
Day 5: AlUla to Jeddah
Morning flight to Jeddah. Afternoon: Al-Balad historic district — Naseef House, Souq Al-Alawi. Evening: Corniche, Al Rahmah floating mosque, farewell dinner. Overnight Jeddah.
