Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Sorong — Kri Island
Airport pickup in Sorong and speedboat transfer to Kri Island. Afternoon orientation snorkeling on the house reef — you’ll see more fish species in 30 minutes than in a week in the Caribbean. The house reef at Kri holds the world record for most fish species counted on a single dive (374 species by Dr. Gerald Allen). Overnight at Kri Island homestay.
Day 2: Piaynemo & Fam Islands
Full day exploring the Fam Islands. Morning climb to Piaynemo viewpoint. Swim in Star Lagoon. Snorkeling at Manta Point — reef mantas seen year-round at this cleaning station. Picnic lunch on a deserted sandbar island. Overnight at Kri Island.
Day 3-4: Wayag — The Crown Jewel
Early departure for Wayag, the iconic northernmost island group of Raja Ampat — a 4-hour speedboat journey through increasingly dramatic seascapes. Wayag is the image you’ve seen on every Raja Ampat poster: a cluster of mushroom-shaped karst islands rising from impossibly turquoise water. Climb to Wayag’s viewpoint for the definitive panorama. Two full days exploring Wayag’s hidden lagoons, secret beaches, and pristine reefs. Beach camping under the Milky Way — no light pollution, no sound except the gentle lap of waves. Fresh seafood barbecue on the beach. Snorkeling with blacktip reef sharks and turtles. Overnights: beach camping (tent provided).
Day 5: Return Journey — Yeben & Arborek
Sunrise at Wayag viewpoint — the morning light paints the karst islands in shades of gold and emerald. Return journey south, stopping at Yeben Island for lunch and snorkeling. Afternoon arrival at Arborek Village. Cultural interaction with the local community. Overnight at Arborek homestay.
Day 6: Bird of Paradise & Farewell
Pre-dawn trek at Sawinggrai for the Red Bird of Paradise display. Morning snorkeling at a secret spot. Afternoon return to Kri Island for a farewell feast — fresh grilled fish, sago, and tropical fruits. Overnight at Kri Island.
Day 7: Depart Raja Ampat
Morning at leisure — last swim in Raja Ampat’s crystalline waters. Speedboat return to Sorong. Airport transfer.
