Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Port Vila
Airport transfer. Afternoon: explore Port Vila — the colorful produce market, waterfront promenade, and National Museum. Welcome dinner at a waterfront restaurant. Overnight in Port Vila.
Day 2: Mount Yasur Volcano — The Fire Mountain
Morning flight to Tanna (45 min). 4WD transfer across the island through rainforest and traditional villages. Afternoon: hike to the crater rim of Mount Yasur — the world’s most accessible active volcano, continuously erupting for over 800 years. Stand at the edge as glowing lava bombs arc into the sky, the ground trembles, and the sound roars through you. Stay for sunset eruptions — the orange glow against the darkening Pacific sky is one of Earth’s most primal spectacles. Optional night eruption viewing. Overnight at a guesthouse at Yasur’s base.
Day 3: Village Culture & Return
Morning: visit a traditional kastom village (Yakel or Imao) for cultural immersion — see traditional life preserved for centuries. Flight back to Port Vila. Afternoon: Mele Cascades waterfalls (optional). Airport transfer for evening departure.
