Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Ljubljana
Welcome to Slovenia! Airport transfer to your hotel. Evening walking tour of Ljubljana: Preseren Square, the iconic Triple Bridge designed by Joze Plecnik, and the charming Old Town. Welcome dinner at a traditional gostilna. Overnight in Ljubljana.
Day 2: Lake Bled & Lake Bohinj
Morning at Lake Bled: Pletna boat to the island church, castle visit, and cream cake tasting. Afternoon at Lake Bohinj in Triglav National Park — Slovenia’s largest permanent lake, less touristy, surrounded by towering Julian Alps. Optional cable car to Mount Vogel (1,535m) for panoramic alpine views. Overnight in Bled.
Day 3: Julian Alps & Soca Valley
Drive the spectacular Vrsic Pass (1,611m) with 50 hairpin turns through the Julian Alps. Visit the Russian Chapel memorial. Descend into the emerald Soca River Valley. Stop at the Great Soca Gorge and Boka Waterfall (144m, Slovenia’s highest). Overnight in Kobarid.
Day 4: Kobarid WWI History & Wine
Visit the award-winning Kobarid Museum dedicated to WWI’s Isonzo Front. Walk the Kobarid Historical Trail to Kozjak Waterfall. Afternoon in Goriska Brda, Slovenia’s Tuscany — rolling hills, vineyards, medieval villages. Wine tasting at a family winery: Rebula, Sauvignonasse, and Pinela. Overnight in Goriska Brda.
Day 5: Karst Region & Lipica Stud Farm
Explore the Karst region: visit the Skocjan Caves (UNESCO), a massive underground canyon with the Reka River rushing 146m below. Continue to Lipica Stud Farm, the original home of the noble Lipizzaner white horses since 1580. Watch a training session and tour the historic stables. Overnight on the coast.
Day 6: Piran — Adriatic Gem
Full day in Piran, Slovenia’s most beautiful coastal town. Venetian Gothic architecture, narrow winding streets, Tartini Square. Climb the cathedral bell tower for Istrian peninsula views. Seafood lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Afternoon swim or boat trip along the Slovenian Riviera. Overnight in Piran.
Day 7: Postojna Cave & Return
Visit Postojna Cave — electric train ride through 24km of karst wonders. Continue to Predjama Castle. Afternoon return to Ljubljana. Free time for last shopping and exploration. Farewell dinner at a Michelin-recommended restaurant. Overnight in Ljubljana.
Day 8: Depart Ljubljana
Breakfast and transfer to Ljubljana Airport. Safe travels with memories of Slovenia’s incredible diversity!
