Day 1: Arrive Statia — The Golden Rock
Welcome to St. Eustatius, the historic Dutch enclave where the United States was first recognized. Evening walk through Oranjestad’s 18th-century streets. Overnight in Oranjestad.
Day 2: Quill Volcano Crater & Botanical Trail
Full-day exploration of the Quill: descend into the rainforest-filled crater, hike the Mazinga Trail along the volcano’s outer slopes, and visit the Miriam Schmidt Botanical Garden. Overnight in Oranjestad.
Day 3: Marine Park — Wrecks & Reefs
Two-tank dive: Charlie Brown wreck (artificial reef teeming with life at 30m), and the Blue Bead Hole searching for 17th-century trade beads. Afternoon: snorkeling at Crooks Castle. Overnight in Oranjestad.
Day 4: Fort Oranje & Lower Town Archaeology
Morning at Fort Oranje (First Salute site) and the Simon Doncker Historical Museum. Afternoon: exploring the sunken warehouses of Lower Town, the Dutch Reformed Church ruins, and the old Jewish cemetery (the 1739 cemetery is one of the oldest in the Caribbean). Overnight in Oranjestad.
Day 5: Zeelandia & Boven National Park
Morning walk on Zeelandia Beach, 3km of wild Atlantic coast. Continue to Boven National Park on the island’s northern hills for hiking trails through dry tropical forest with views of St. Kitts and Nevis. Afternoon: visit the Lynch Plantation and the reconstructed slave village. Overnight in Oranjestad.
Day 6: Advanced Diving & Night Dive
Deep dives: the Hangover (a 40m wall dive with pelagics) and the Grand Canyon (a volcanic canyon with eagle rays). Evening: guided night dive to see bioluminescence and nocturnal reef creatures. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Oranjestad.
Day 7: St. Eustatius Morning & Depart
Visit the island bakery for fresh guava pastries. Transfer to airport, flight to St. Maarten.
