Day 4: Ranthambore Tiger Safaris
The day you’ve been waiting for. Pre-dawn departure for your first jeep safari (6-9:30 AM) into Ranthambore National Park. Your naturalist guide navigates the 392 sq km park, once the private hunting ground of Jaipur’s maharajas. Scan for pugmarks, listen for alarm calls of langur monkeys and spotted deer — telltale signs of a tiger nearby. Ranthambore’s tigers are among the world’s most photographed, famously relaxed around vehicles. Between tigers, watch for leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and 300+ bird species. Breakfast at the park rest house. Afternoon: second safari (2:30-6 PM) to a different zone — the park’s 10th-century Ranthambore Fort ruins provide a dramatic backdrop. Evening: share tiger stories around a bonfire. Overnight Ranthambore.
Day 5: Ranthambore to Jaipur
Optional third morning safari. After breakfast, drive to Jaipur (3.5 hrs). En route, stop at Abhaneri Stepwell — Chand Baori, an astounding 9th-century geometric wonder with 3,500 steps descending 13 stories into the earth. Arrive Jaipur and check into your heritage hotel. Evening: visit Birla Mandir — a white marble temple glowing at sunset. Overnight Jaipur.
