Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Ljubljana
Welcome to Slovenia’s cycling paradise! Bike fitting and safety briefing. Afternoon warm-up cycle along the Ljubljanica River to the Botanical Garden and Tivoli Park. Welcome dinner. Overnight in Ljubljana.
Day 2: Ljubljana to Bled (55km)
Cycle north through rural villages and farmland toward the Julian Alps. Pass through Skofja Loka, one of Slovenia’s oldest and best-preserved medieval towns. Ascend into the alpine foothills with the first glimpse of the Karavanke mountains. Arrive at Lake Bled. Overnight in Bled.
Day 3: Bled Loop & Vintgar Gorge (35km)
Morning loop around Lake Bled with photo stops at classic viewpoints. Visit Vintgar Gorge. Afternoon ride to the Radovna Valley, passing traditional Slovene hayracks. Optional climb to Bled Castle. Overnight in Bled.
Day 4: Triglav National Park via Vrsic Pass (65km, support vehicle option)
The epic day! Cycle the legendary Vrsic Pass — 50 hairpin turns to 1,611m, Slovenia’s highest road through the Julian Alps. Stunning mountain views at every switchback. Support vehicle available. Descend into the emerald Soca Valley. Overnight in Bovec.
Day 5: Soca Valley to Goriska Brda (70km)
Follow the turquoise Soca River south. Cycle past WWI memorials, the Solkan Bridge (world’s longest stone arch railway bridge), and into the wine country of Goriska Brda. Vineyard-lined rolling hills reminiscent of Tuscany. Wine tasting at a family cellar. Overnight in Brda.
Day 6: Karst to Coast (60km)
Cycle through the Karst region’s limestone landscape. Visit the Skocjan Caves (UNESCO). Continue to the Lipica Stud Farm to see Lipizzaner horses. Final descent to the Adriatic coast at Piran. Overnight in Piran.
Day 7: Coastal Ride & Postojna (45km)
Morning ride along the Slovenian Riviera through Portoroz, Izola, and Koper. Afternoon transfer to Postojna for the cave experience. Return to Ljubljana. Farewell celebration dinner. Overnight in Ljubljana.
Day 8: Depart Ljubljana
Breakfast at a cafe along the Ljubljanica. Transfer to airport. You’ve earned those cream cakes!
