Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Amman
Welcome to Jordan! Airport transfer to your hotel. Afternoon walking tour of Amman’s highlights: the Citadel with ruins spanning the Bronze Age through Islamic periods, the Roman Theatre (6,000 seats), and the vibrant streets of Rainbow Street. Welcome dinner featuring mansaf, Jordan’s national dish of lamb cooked in fermented dried yogurt. Overnight in Amman.
Day 2: Jerash — Pompeii of the East
Morning drive north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy. Walk through Hadrian’s Arch, the hippodrome, the Oval Plaza, and the spectacular colonnaded Cardo Maximus. Stand in the South Theatre — still used for concerts with perfect acoustics. Afternoon visit to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Islamic fortress with panoramic views. Overnight in Amman.
Day 3: Madaba, Mount Nebo & Kings’ Highway
Visit Madaba, the “City of Mosaics” — see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in St. George’s Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Panoramic views across the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and on clear days, Jerusalem. Drive the ancient Kings’ Highway to Petra. Overnight in Petra (Wadi Musa).
Day 4: Petra — The Rose-Red City
Full day at Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and Jordan’s crown jewel. Walk through the Siq, a narrow 1.2km canyon, to emerge at the breathtaking Treasury (Al-Khazneh). Explore the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Roman Theatre carved from solid rock, and climb to the Monastery (Ad-Deir) — 800 steps to a massive facade with epic views. Optional Petra by Night candlelit experience (Mon/Wed/Thu). Overnight in Petra.
Day 5: Wadi Rum — Valley of the Moon
Drive to Wadi Rum, the magnificent desert valley where Lawrence of Arabia fought and where Matt Damon filmed The Martian. 4×4 jeep tour through red sand dunes and dramatic rock formations: Lawrence’s Spring, Khazali Canyon with ancient inscriptions, and the red sand dune for sandboarding. Sunset at a Bedouin camp. Traditional zarb dinner (underground oven) and stargazing. Overnight in a luxury Bedouin camp.
Day 6: Dead Sea & Departure
Drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth (427m below sea level). Float effortlessly in the ultra-buoyant mineral-rich waters — you literally cannot sink. Cover yourself in therapeutic black mud. Shower off and transfer to Queen Alia International Airport. Safe travels!
