Day 1: Arrive Yerevan

Welcome to Armenia! Airport transfer to your 4-star hotel. Evening walking tour of Yerevan: Republic Square with its pink tuff stone architecture, the singing fountains, and the grand Cascade complex — a giant stairway filled with modern art. Welcome dinner with Armenian brandy tasting. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2: Yerevan City & Echmiadzin

Morning tour of Yerevan: Matenadaran manuscript museum housing 17,000+ ancient texts, the Genocide Memorial (Tsitsernakaberd), and bustling Vernissage flea market. Afternoon visit to Etchmiadzin, the Vatican of the Armenian Apostolic Church — see the 4th-century cathedral (one of the world’s oldest) and Zvartnots Temple ruins (UNESCO). Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3: Garni & Geghard

Drive to Garni, Armenia’s only surviving pagan temple — a 1st-century Hellenistic gem perched on a basalt cliff overlooking a dramatic gorge. Continue to Geghard Monastery (UNESCO), partially carved out of a mountain. Hear the incredible acoustics during a short spiritual music performance. Lunch with a local family making lavash bread in a tonir (underground oven). Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 4: Khor Virap & Noravank

Visit Khor Virap Monastery at the foot of Mount Ararat (5,137m) — the closest point to the biblical mountain, with staggering views on clear days. Descend into the dungeon where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years. Continue to Noravank Monastery nestled in a dramatic red rock canyon. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 5: Lake Sevan & Dilijan

Journey to Lake Sevan, the “Jewel of Armenia” — one of the world’s highest freshwater lakes at 1,900m. Visit Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula with panoramic lake views. Continue to Dilijan, the “Armenian Switzerland” — walk through the restored Sharambeyan Street with artisan workshops. Overnight in Dilijan.

Day 6: Haghpat & Sanahin Monasteries

Visit two UNESCO-listed medieval monasteries in the lush Lori region. Haghpat Monastery (10th century) with its unique bell tower and library. Sanahin Monastery, famous for its scriptorium and medieval university. Walk through the picturesque Debed Canyon. Return to Dilijan.

Day 7: Wine Region & Return to Yerevan

Visit the Areni Wine Region — tour the Areni-1 cave, the world’s oldest known winery (6,100 years old). Wine tasting at a family vineyard. Visit the 13th-century Noravank Monastery. Return to Yerevan for farewell dinner with live duduk music. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 8: Depart Yerevan

Morning at the GUM Market for Armenian dried fruits, spices, and sujukh. Transfer to Zvartnots International Airport.
