Day 2: Dual-Nation Island Safari
St. Martin/St. Maarten is the smallest landmass in the world divided between two nations — the Treaty of Concordia (1648) split the island between France and the Netherlands, and the border has been peaceful ever since. Morning exploration of the Dutch side: Dawn Beach, Oyster Bay, and the Corilita Natural Reserve, where you can spot iguanas, mongoose, and pelicans. Cross to the French side for Orient Beach, the “Saint-Tropez of the Caribbean” with its clothing-optional section. Board the Edge ferry (45 min) to St. Barthélemy — “St. Barts” — the most glamorous island in the Caribbean. The harbor of Gustavia is filled with superyachts, and the streets are lined with Hermès, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton. Yet St. Barts retains a rustic charm: red-roofed cottages, goat-crossing signs, and the ruins of Swedish colonial rule (Sweden owned St. Barts from 1784-1878 — a bizarre footnote in Caribbean history). Options for the day: scuba diving among coral walls, visiting the Shell Museum (Shell Beach is exactly what it sounds like — millions of tiny shells instead of sand), or simply relaxing on St. Jean Beach with a bottle of rosé. Day 4: Prickly Pear & Anguilla Excursion
Board the Lambada catamaran for a full-day island expedition. Sail to Prickly Pear, a tiny uninhabited cay off Anguilla, for some of the best snorkeling in the region — the reef drops from 3 to 40 meters in a spectacular wall dive.
