Day 1: Cuiabá to Pantanal Jungle Lodge
Morning pickup from Cuiabá. Drive into the southern Pantanal’s Nhecolândia region — a landscape of thousands of lakes (salinas and baías) that create extraordinary wildlife density. Arrive at Pantanal Jungle Lodge by early afternoon. Lunch, then a 4×4 safari through the open grasslands — giant anteaters lumbering through the scrub, rheas (South American ostriches) sprinting across the plains, and if you’re lucky, a maned wolf on the prowl. Evening sunset boat ride on a nearby lake, then dinner and a night walk. Overnight lodge.
Day 2: Jaguar Boat Safari
Full-day dedicated jaguar search. Boat excursion through the channels and rivers of the Nhecolândia — expert guides who know jaguar territories and behavior. Even if jaguars prove elusive (they’re wild, not guaranteed), the day delivers: giant river otters, anacondas sunning on branches, howler monkeys, toucans, and the immense bird diversity that makes the Pantanal a birder’s paradise. Picnic lunch on the riverbank. Return to lodge by evening. Overnight lodge.
Day 3: Full Pantanal Immersion
Dawn walk through forest trails — the morning chorus of Pantanal birds is world-famous. Track tapirs by their distinctive footprints, watch for coatis (South American raccoons) foraging, and scan the canopy for monkeys. Midday: piranha fishing from the lodge dock (the water literally boils with them). Afternoon 4×4 safari to different sectors of the Nhecolândia for fresh wildlife encounters. Sunset boat ride — the golden light over the lakes is pure Pantanal magic. Farewell dinner. Overnight lodge.
Day 4: Final Dawn & Return
Optional dawn walk for last wildlife sightings. Breakfast, then transfer back to Cuiabá for departure.
